President
Mary and I have been married for 47 years. We moved to Squaw Lake in late 2014. We moved from the Rochester Michigan area after all three of our children were raised. Mary and I have 7 wonderful grandchildren. Mary and I love our community and hope in some small ways, we can make a positive difference in our neighbors lives.

Tony Spezia
Vice President
From Squaw to Ponemah and now embracing Four Lakes, I’ve moved around these waters enough to be a true lake aficionado. My beautiful wife, Katie, and our two amazing girls keep me anchored in our lake adventures. As a past president and now VP, I’m all about the well-being and good times on PST – whether it’s enjoying unbeatable sunsets or navigating the river to the Linden Mill Pond in our vintage Boston Whaler. Keeping lake life lively is my mission, and I’m fully committed to making sure these waters are filled with friends, family, and plenty of laughter.

Steve Campana
Treasurer

We also have twins, Isabella (Justin her husband) Tata and Brenden.
We love lake life and have enjoyed meeting others all around the chain of lakes!

Joann Allen
Secretary
My husband, Scott, and I have been married for 22 wonderful years. In 2020, after raising our children, we followed our hearts to Lake Ponemah—bringing along our two beloved furbabies. Having both grown up on lakes, it felt like coming home. We cherish time on the chain of lakes with family and friends and truly enjoy connecting with our neighbors and welcoming new faces to our community.

Zack Day
Trustee
I am a lifelong Fenton/Linden resident and have lived on our chain of lakes since November of 2018. I am currently engaged to Kaitlyn and to be married in June of 2025. We have no kids yet, but have two dogs and a cat.
I am a Lead System Engineer at General Dynamics: Land Systems developing future military vehicles for the Army. I graduated from Kettering University (formerly GMI) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Kaitlyn is a Veterinarian and works at Towne and Country in Brighton and has her doctorate from MSU.
I’m a huge hockey and golf fan. I grew up playing travel hockey out of flint at a high level and played D3 college hockey as well.
I enjoy spending my free time on the lake and golf course and with my family. I also enjoy helping my lake neighbors when I can. I’ve helped remove trees and other obstacles and even do some boat and home repairs. I like to watch the Facebook page for any hazard alerts and will try to remove or fix the issue when possible.

Brad Eastman
Trustee
I’ve been fortunate to call the PST Chain of Lakes home for the past 20 years, and I’m excited to serve as a trustee to help our community thrive. My wife, Sara, and I are raising our three wonderful kids—Riley, Cole, and Casey—who make life full of fun and adventure. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends on the lake, fishing, and meeting new people who share the same love for the water. Living here has given me countless great memories, and I’m looking forward to making many more while giving back to the place we love.

I moved to Fenton in 2009 after graduating from college, having spent many summers as a young child visiting my uncle’s cottage up north, the dream of living on a lake had always been in the back of my mind. In 2009, that dream became a reality, and I never looked back. In 2013, I met my wife, Lauren, who was born and raised in Huntington Woods. Together, we’ve made Fenton our home, and even though we’re no longer direct riparian’s, we still cherish the lakefront lifestyle and the sense of community it offers. Over the past decade, we’ve built lasting friendships and embraced the relaxed, "up north" vibe that makes this area so special.
Now, it’s our turn to share the joys of lake life with our two daughters (Dylan and Stella) and other community members. Being part of this association gives us the opportunity to contribute to our wonderful community and ensure that future generations—both current riparian’s and those to come—can continue to enjoy the beauty of PST. We’re excited to give back and help preserve the spirit of this amazing place we call home.

Membership
My husband, Tim Nyman, and I both grew up in Davison. In 2018, after an extensive search for the perfect lake property, we were fortunate to find our home on the Landings Way channel in Fenton. Since then, we’ve enjoyed meeting wonderful neighbors, boating, and sharing the chain of lakes with family and friends. Together, we have four adult children and three grandchildren.
Now, in 2025, we’re navigating the exciting transition into retirement—meaning more time to soak up lake life. A vibrant lake community is important to us, which is why I’m happy to step into the role of Membership Lead. Our $25 annual fee is a small investment for the big returns we all enjoy through our PST Association.

My husband Tim and I have called the PST chain of lakes home since 2013 — from summer boat days to winter nights skating under the lights, having a lake as our backyard is something I’ll never take for granted. As a girl whose happy place is on a boat, I feel lucky to raise our kids in a place full of nature, adventure, and genuine community — bike rides, fireworks, barefoot kids running house to house, and porch drinks with neighbors who are more like family.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me cheering on my kids, exploring new places, or spending time outside with family. I also enjoy volunteering with the Lake Fenton PTO, youth sports, and now, the PST Lake Association. I love being part of a community that values connection, tradition, and the beauty of lake life.

Gary Carlson
Historian
As a lifelong resident of Squaw Lake [a/k/a Lake Aanikegamaa] I own my childhood home that my parents bought in 1959 as a new build. Being a lake resident for over 60 years I have witnessed our chain of lakes firsthand; from the ebb and flow of water levels, to watching our community evolve, families come and go, traditions take root, and stories get passed down like treasures. Growing up with the lake as my "other" front yard, with seasons marked by changes in the water, I have childhood memories of swimming and fishing off the family dock, ice skating, and spending countless hours exploring our chain of lakes, channels and river in my dad's 6-horse powered rowboat.
I am gainfully employed as a Landscape Horticulturist specializing in tree & shrub care. With a background in environmental science, including an Associate's Degree, and a passion for local history, as your Historian I am dedicated to preserving the rich tapestry that defines our waterfront heritage.
My extensive knowledge of our lake's past, present and future has been shaped by my involvement in various community initiatives, including volunteering for our Lake Association, participating in lake & channel clean-up events, serving on the PST Water Quality Committee, and being the PST Liaison for the Keepers of the Shiawassee River organization, and the Shiawassee River Water Trail Coalition. Regarding my past service to our community; from 1991 to 2005 I was the neighborhood Beautification Project Coordinator. And then also the Civic Affairs Monitor for the Squanemah Shores Association, Inc. A former Property Owners Board that represented the Four Lakes Avenue subdivision. I also served as the Resource Lead for the Coalition of Fenton Township Lake Associations from 1998 to 2005.
In this position of Historian, I am dedicated to preserving the legacy of our lake's watershed through archival research, thoughtful documentation, and community storytelling involving chatting with neighbors about the "good ole days" that chronicle our lake's past -- from the early days of settlement to the vibrant and unique lakes community that we are today. Including leading afternoon boat tours around our chain of lakes giving an engaging and informative commentary on our lake's history, geography, points of interest, memories, legend and lore. I welcome contributions from all lake families, whether you've been here for generations, or just arrived last summer. As honoring our shared past to this watershed is key to protecting our lakes for the future generations to appreciate and preserve the natural wonders of our chain of lakes.
When not researching our lake's history compiling the next historical tidbit, my pastimes include: genealogy research (of course), "yardening", living as a Cat Dad to our feline Ethel. Being a foodie with my wife Jill, (with whom I have 3 stepdaughters), where we dine weekly at our usual favs as well as visiting new restaurants. Jill and I also enjoy travel to places near and far. Including our annual winter Caribbean cruise.

Robert Keeley & Dolly Garlo
Water Quality and Weed Management
Robert: My life has evolved on, in and under the water. At 9, I explored Lake Geneva (WI) with my small outboard and a fishing line. At 19, the warm waters of the Florida Keys called. As a USCG Captain taking people sailing and snorkeling on a 57 foot sloop, scuba diving, spearfishing, and lobstering, my commitment to marine life led to a 15-year career with the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. As a NOAA Working Diver and Divemaster on the Education and Outreach Team, I helped protect one of the world's most fragile ecosystems, managed numerous shoreline cleanups and became fluent in litter reduction strategies for water quality and wildlife protection.
Dolly: I started water skiing on Lake Erie and snow skiing in Ohio and Michigan at age 6, learned to scuba dive in Ann Arbor, and worked as a shock trauma ICU RN in Salt Lake City, where I became a health care attorney. Retired from law practice, I work in career and business development consulting and nonprofit and philanthropic foundation support. Living in the Florida Keys for 25 years, I met Robert while serving on the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Board, as Chair of Sanctuary Friends Foundation, and with the Mote Marine Lab Keys Advisory Council and Protect Our Reefs Grants Committee.
In 2017, in response to the direct hit of Cat 4 Hurricane Irma, we helped form the Conch Republic Marine Army, a grassroots volunteer tax exempt nonprofit devoted to clean up and restore the mangrove habitats of the Florida Keys where more than 6,217 volunteers have now collected nearly 294 tons of marine debris, including about 647 miles of fishing trap line and 105 refrigerators. The power of community.
In 2023, after looking at inland lakes all over southeast Michigan, along with our poodle Oscar we made the move to this unique chain of lakes with the Shiawassee National and Michigan State River Trail running through it – and discovered we had struck gold.
If you have questions about boating safety & required equipment, fishing regulations and fishery management, water quality and shoreline design to maintain a healthy river and lake ecosystem, how to eliminate the damage litter does to our watershed, or want to do your part to protect this amazing place and community, please join us! We are always learning, and enjoy finding answers to support environmental sustainability.
